It’s holiday season in Hornography land, as we get ready to party amongst our local metal brethren with a heavy celebration for the last HORNOGRAPHY of 2020! 

For a big metal party we need a fun metal theme, and what better way to do it than with a Christmas Party and Nu Metal night! Whack on your favourite Adidas snap pants and drop your bass strap extra low as we drink the night away with some of the best and worst nu metal tunes of years gone by.

When it comes to nu metal in Perth, there really is one standout option, and that is a special one hour set of KORN songs thanks to Perth’s tribute act FREAKS ON A LEASH. Those who have witnessed these guys before knows they can bust out high quality Korn renditions and are guaranteed to put together a great set list for us to mosh out to! 

DIAMOND SKY 
Channelling the golden era of rock and roll to create powerful heavy metal anthems, DIAMOND SKY will be treating us to some memorable tunes with melody and energy. Keeping active across Perth with a variety of projects, expect nothing less than quality musicianship and a super fun stage show. 

MIDNIGHT FURNACE 
This upcoming heavy rock band right outta Perth will be opening the proceedings with their heavy tunes done well. MIDNIGHT FURNACE features members from other quality local metal acts and is well worth your time getting down early to soak up the vibes. 

HORNOGRAPHY DJ - FUDD 
Making his way across the airwaves of RTRFM, DJ FUDD will be treating us to some classic nu metal tunes amongst other heavy classics.

Perth’s monthly metal event HORNOGRAPHY is back in November for another heavy hitting party! 

This month we are paying homage to a classic AT THE GATES album! Released this month 25 years ago, SLAUGHTER OF THE SOUL was, and still is, one of the most groundbreaking and influential melodic death metal albums of all time. An undisputed landmark in melodic death metal and played a major role in popularizing the Gothenburg scene and is commonly ranked amongst best metal album of all time! 

WA has been spoilt with local metal events during this pandemic and HORNOGRAPHY is no exception, with all of the return shows being absolute rippers. So get down early and don’t miss this chance to rock out with Perth punters and muso’s for another killer night out. 

BLOODLUST 
What better way to end a night out than with a ruthless slab of blackened thrash metal! Devil’s soldiers BLOODLUST have risen from hell to spread a plague of blasphemous darkness against the light and all that is holy! 

THE HARVEST TRAIL 
Taking influence from melodic death metal but doing it faster and angrier than anyone, THE HARVEST TRAIL are a fitting addition to this At The Gates homage event! A new name to the Perth live circuit, but with members of historic acts such as Claim The Throne and Red Descending, good luck sitting still for this one! 

AS LIGHT DECAYS 
High intensity thrash groove crossover act AS LIGHT DECAYS have been making their presence felt in Perth, scoring a ton of shows and winning over the local headbangers. Now making their Hornography debut in the lead to their next release, these guys are ready to stamp their ground and make an impact!

Returning at Slayfest, then busting up HORNOGRAPHY, SANZU is a unique beast that unleashes heavy music in a way that utilises diversity without straying too far from it’s death metal foundation. Time to blow out the metal candles, HORNOGRAPHY is turning 2! You’ve all taken care of this child so well, you deserve a celebration! Born in August 2018, the Perth metal scene embraced a monthly metal club night known as HORNOGRAPHY! Since then we have witnessed a reboosted thirst for live local heavy music thriving at it’s hardest in years. 

If the rest of the world wasn’t already jealous of us Perth metalheads having a monthly gig night all of our own, they certainly are now with the second HORNOGRAPHY event back from COVID restrictions! You all embraced the return night last month and soaked up the vibe with gratitude and respect, let’s do it again and party the only way Perth metalheads know how! 

With the introduction of live music back into Perth, we need to be flexible with how it’s all gonna work. So please note this event is at LUCY’S LOVE SHACK. Things will gradually return to normal as we move forward. 

ERUPTION 
What better way for metalheads to party than by closing the night with a set of party rock covers! ERUPTION are an explosive band out of Perth paying tribute to the classics of Hard Rock! Ripping out the big hits from the likes of Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Van Halen, Alice Cooper, Whitesnake & more, there will be no shortage of singalongs, air guitars and headbanging! 

DEPRAVITY 
Bringing the extreme assault is Perth’s most crushing death metal machine DEPRAVITY! These legends have just announced the upcoming release of a new album Grand Malevolence, and if the title track is anything to go by, we’re in for a big destructive treat. 

ENFORCE 
Yes you read right, and we haven’t travelled back in time, but local metal veterans ENFORCE will be making their HORNOGRAPHY debut! Arriving on the first fleet into Perth back in 1829 in a room next door to Dysie, these guys have pumped out tons of memorable thrash and death tunes that us metalheads have all shared a great live moment with. With a newly refreshed lineup ENFORCE will tear us a new one! 

CAGE THE HATE 
Heavy, unadulterated, brutal music right outta Perth, upcomers CAGE THE HATE will be opening the night to get our ears and necks warmed up. This crew have been winning fans over by smashing the local metal circuit and growing into a promising act ready to destroy!

Lets Kill Uncle – COMEBACK SHOW 
Local metal fans can cast their minds back to 2015, when LETS KILL UNCLE destroyed stages with all of Perth’s biggest heavy acts and played overseas. Things slowed down for a few years, apart from a huge comeback show in 2018, but now the stars have aligned and these hard hitting melodic death metallers are back to give Perth fans another taste. 

Larry Leadfoot – FROM MELBOURNE 
Experimental death metal with a modern twist and super heavy, LARRY LEADFOOT from Melbourne are making the trip west to play one Perth show for the Hornography punters. Prepare for their crushing wall of sound and get your neck in shape for a good old-fashioned headbanging session! 

The Harvest Trail – FIRST SHOW 
This is the debut live show for a brand new Perth metal act. Inspired by 90’s Scandinavian melodeath/thrash, THE HARVEST TRAIL play a relentless style of melodic death metal packed full of riffs and delivered with ruthless aggression. 

DJ Jen Gruesome 
Destroying our ears for this event is DJ JEN GRUESOME. Expect tunes from all heavy genres from underground grind to folk metal and plenty of classic tracks in between.

The legendary Wacken Metal Battle will be making it’s triumphant debut in the great southern land, giving unsigned Australian metal acts the opportunity to battle it out for a spot at the world’s largest and greatest heavy metal festival - Wacken Open Air. 30 years have passed since the creation of Wacken Open Air and now going into their fourth decade, the “holy land of heavy metal” has chosen Australia as it’s newest inclusion into the ranks of their fabled battle of the bands.

Wacken is in search of the greatest unsigned metal band down under and send them off to play Wacken Open Air 2020. The regional heats hit Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne. 8 bands are chosen per regional heat to compete, with the winner of each heat given a slot to perform at the grand final in Melbourne. The winner of the grand final is given a slot at Wacken Open Air in front of tens of thousands of the world’s biggest metalheads! Winners are decided by a judging panel of some of Australia’s most prolific metal industry figures.
